Visualhg not updating icons in one of my projects

description

I have several visual studio solutions.

In one solution, a mixed C++ and C# solution I have around 15 sub projects where each has its own mercurial repository. This solution builds fine and checkins are reflected perfectly.

However I have another more gargantuan solution. This is pure C++ (with COM). This project consists of around 6 sub projects. All but one of those sub projects are in one repository. The remaining sub project is in both solutions. In this solution I have 2 problems, the first problem is that when I commit files into the gargantuan repository visual hg still shows me the red icon. The other problem is that the shared sub project doesn't have any commit status information at all.

Does anyone have any ideas how to solve this?

This is broken for me even on smaller projects. I can't recall for sure, but I don't think the problem happened before I added an SSD.

Sometimes it doesn't show changes made to files in the pending changes window. But the bigger issue is that even when I do a commit, files that were showing in the pending window remain there. This seems like a pretty obvious issue, seeing as you know the user just clicked the 'commit' button, and that the commit succeeded, why not clear out changes? I am guessing that there is a bug with watching the filesystem, which is maybe amplified with a fast SSD.

Most of my co-workers have stopped using it now due to the same issue. I have tried the VisualHG2 fork, but the problem exists there as well. I am really surprised the only has two votes, as it is one of the only HG plugins, and it pretty broken.
